How it works
Fast to find, fast to use.
-
Search what you copied
Type a few letters to find anything you copied in the last 7 days: text, links, colours, images and code. Results filter as you type, with the match in bold.
-
Copy, then paste yourself
Press ↵ to copy the selected item. The panel closes and you press ⌘V where you need it. ⌥↵ copies as plain text.
-
Pinned clips
Pin a clip to keep it at the top for good: pinned clips never expire. Hover a clip and click Pin, or right-click it. Handy for addresses, sign-offs and snippets.
-
Save a clip as a file
Turn any text or image into a file on your shelf, ready to drag into another app.
What it keeps
What's saved, and what never is.
History keeps the last 7 days: up to 300 items and 1 GB in all. Images can be up to 25 MB each, or more on a large display, so a full-screen screenshot always fits. Everything else can be up to 5 MB.
Saved
- Text, rich text and code
- Links
- Colours
- Images and screenshots
- File references from Finder
Never saved
- Anything password managers mark as private
- Anything copied in apps you exclude
- Anything copied while history is paused
- Items over the size limit
Clipboard history is off until you turn it on, during first setup or in Settings › Clipboard. Turning it off deletes everything it saved, after asking you first.
Privacy
Your clipboard stays on your Mac.
Clipboard history is one of the most private things on a computer. dragand stores it encrypted, in the app's own sandbox, and never sends it anywhere. The only thing dragand ever sends online is a purchase check.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|

| Can I pause it? | Yes, for an hour, from dragand's menu (right-click it at the edge). |

FAQ
Clipboard questions
Does macOS have clipboard history built in?
macOS keeps only the last thing you copied. dragand adds a 7-day history you can search, with pinned items and per-app exclusions. [confirm against current macOS before publishing]
Why doesn't dragand paste for me?
Apps from the Mac App Store can't type into other apps. dragand copies the item and closes, so pressing ⌘V pastes it. It's one extra key, and it means dragand never needs Accessibility permission.
Will it slow my Mac down?
No. dragand checks the clipboard in the background and stores images as separate small files, so a large history stays fast.
Can I use only the file shelf?
Yes. Clipboard history is optional and off by default.
